2020 FILM REEL
I have an unquenchable thirst for creative expression and a relentless desire to tell unforgettable stories. In the spring of 2018, I walked away from my dream career as a middle school Drama teacher to pursue my greatest desire: becoming a filmmaker.
I've been working as a professional photographer and videographer for almost a decade, and my camera even found its way into my classroom, when I founded and directed a film program for 8th graders. It was during those years that I developed a passion for writing, directing, and producing short films and music videos.
In the spring, I will graduate from the School of Filmmaking at the University of North Carolina School of the Arts with my MFA in Filmmaking for Creative Producing. During my time in the graduate program, I have had the opportunity to learn from true masters of filmmaking who have been tremendously instrumental in helping me develop my craft as a director, screenwriter, and creative producer.
Theatre was and is my first love, and I graduated from East Carolina School of Theatre and Dance with my BFA in Professional Acting in 2011. I am truly grateful to have had the opportunity to devote most of my life to the study of storytelling from a number of different perspectives and approaches.
My husband Josh is the man who keeps me grounded but has never once tried to hold me back. We have been married for almost a decade, and we have a little Corgi named Hobson and a giant horse named Kyojin. I'm a left-handed INFJ and one of my favorite movies is FRIDAY NIGHT LIGHTS (2004). I haven't seen the TV show, but the film gets me every time.
I want to make films that give people courage.
